  For the 4th year in a row, Drott Lodge will be selling Swedish gift items and imported food at the Icelandic Christmas Bazaar in Fairfax, VA. The bazaar has vendors from across the region selling Icelandic and Nordic-themed gifts, including art, crafts, wool, jewelry and more!

  Also, the Icelandic Association serves great Icelandic food for lunch: Smurbraud (open-faced sandwiches), hot dogs, Icelandic pancakes (crepes), and lots of sweet treats that can’t be found anywhere else.  But past experience has shown that the food sells out quickly, so come early!

• Business Meeting and Nobel Presentation

  On Sunday November 16th, Drott Lodge will host a meeting devoted to the history and upcoming cycle of the Nobel Prize.

  Cultural Leader, Marit Knollmueller, PhD., will give a presentation on the Swedish inventor, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Alfred Nobel, and how he went from being viewed as a "Merchant of Death" to the foremost advocate of human intellectual, artistic and scientific advancement as well as an advocate of peace. We will look at the evolution of the prize ceremony itself since 1901 and will culminate in our own mini-banquet in the spirit of the current Nobel Prize Committee, while celebrating all the 2025 award winners who will receive their honors on December 10th, the anniversary of Alfred Nobel's death. 

  RSVP required by November 12th.

  Annual Swedish Holiday Market hosted by Swedish Women's Educational Association DC in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden.

  Our Children's Jul and Lucia Celebration has returned!

  The Lodge will provide delicious traditional baked goods and refreshments, but we ask members to help create a light dinner of open face sandwiches - enough to feed 8 other guests. 

  This event is free to members and guests.
